Vicidial Scratch Installation Alma Linux 9.5-9.7 or Rocky Linux 9.5-9.7 Asterisk 16.30.1 Php8.2

This guide contains a full installation command reference for building a VICIdial server on AlmaLinux using Apache, PHP, MariaDB, Perl modules, DAHDI, Asterisk 16, astguiclient, cron jobs, rc.local startup commands, and Asterisk sounds.

VICIdial AlmaLinux Asterisk 16 MariaDB DAHDI

Important: Review all commands before running them on a live server. This guide contains database, Apache, PHP, Asterisk, DAHDI, crontab, and reboot commands. Test first on a fresh server or lab environment.
What this guide includes:
  • Development tools and package installation
  • PHP and Apache configuration
  • MariaDB installation and VICIdial database tuning
  • Perl modules required by astguiclient
  • Asterisk Perl, LAME, Jansson, DAHDI, LibPRI, and Asterisk installation
  • astguiclient checkout and database import
  • VICIdial crontab installation
  • rc.local startup configuration
  • Asterisk sound file installation

Requirements

  • Fresh AlmaLinux server
  • Root SSH access
  • Stable internet connection
  • Minimum 4 CPU cores recommended
  • Minimum 8 GB RAM recommended
  • Public or private IP configured correctly

Before You Start

Run these commands as root. If you are using a sudo user, switch to root first:

sudo -i

Update your system first:

dnf update -y
This guide is intended as a command reference. You may need to adjust repository versions, PHP versions, MariaDB modules, server IPs, passwords, and timezone based on your own environment.

hostnamectl set-hostname xxxxxx.xxxxx.xxx
### Use YOUR SubDomain

vi /etc/hosts
##Change domain name for actual server ip (xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx complete domain name subdomain only)

timedatectl set-timezone America/New_York
sudo dnf install glibc-common glibc-locale-source glibc-all-langpacks -y
yum check-update
yum update -y
yum -y install epel-release
yum update -y
yum install git -y
yum install kernel* --exclude=kernel-debug* -y

#Disable SELINUX
sed -i 's/SELINUX=enforcing/SELINUX=disabled/g' /etc/selinux/config

Full Installation Commands

Copy the commands carefully. For best results, run the installation in sections instead of pasting everything at once.

  • Use HTTPS for production access.
